One large data centre that would rather remain anonymous, was able to identify from their battery monitoring that the charger on the UPS had been incorrectly set and was overcharging the batteries. If this had not been identified early the entire battery bank would have required replacing. Early identification allowed the charger to be adjusted and prevented damage to the batteries.
